Re: West Fuji Loop

Pretty! Sucks about the tupperware being removed. I have never been to Fuji or West Fuji. Where exactly is it? W. Fuji is Pt. 3681. https://caltopo.com/map.html#ll=34.2067 ... 9&z=16&b=t The Lone Tree Trail starts off of E. Loma Alta Drive in Altadena. From W. Fuji, you can scramble up the ...

Re: Sisar Canyon

I have been wanting to do White Ledge. I heard that since the fire the vegetation might be clear and it would probably be easier now to make it to the top. Looking at your pics, I guess not. Poodle Dog is a nuisance. If you want a challenging hike do Eagle Rest . This hike was a butt-kicker and ins...

Nice trip jfr. I've eye-balled a similar trip along that stretch of PCT (Three Points to Indian Canyon). Just never pulled the trigger.

Good on you guys for the trail love shown to the thru-hikers.

You used to be able to go up that road further than where the gate is now. Don't know what changed.

How was the trail from Sisar Road to White Ledge? And how far above White Ledge did you hit the wall of Poodle?

Nice pano. Beautiful country. The McNally fire that burned that area around Indian Head was in 2002 I believe. Guess the trail was never fully restored after that.

Whitaker Peak (Pt. 4,148)

I came out of my COVID-19 quarantine stupor today and decided to go hiking. I deliberately chose a location that had a low"ooh-aah" quotient so I wouldn't have to see anyone. Heat, shadeless, no water, and walking through scrub were all considerations. Taking all of those factors into acco...

Not quite the same thing, but if my memory doesn't fail me, I think someone here (maybe Sean or AW) went up Coldwater Canyon some or all the way to the saddle between Thunder and Telegraph. Can't find that TR, but you can see in satellite imagery remnants of an old road in that canyon up to about th...

Re: HAPPY CAMP

I once ran into a mountain lion at Happy Camp. I didn't literally run into a mountain lion, but I came around a bend in the canyon and watched the back end of a cat disappear into the underbrush just ahead of me. I then wisely bent down to get the camera out of my pack but the feline was gone. So no...

Oooooh, nice trip boys. Remote area. I've only been as far as Stone Corral. Nice to see what the area looks like as you drop into Alder Creek. No, the La Jolla Canyon Trail is still closed. It's been like 5 years. But I'm not a conspiracy theorist. That having been sai...
