Great job Cougar (& company) for all the work you do, keep up the good work, and may a log fall on those that would harm, damage or steal any of their camera rigs.

If anyone left a pair of boots at the Manker Flats Trail Head contact me I have them. They could have been left Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning. Pass the word on other boards so we can get them back to the owner.

Ben, David and I ran the canyon in the dark last night, my first time.
It was fun and it will be sad to see it closed, nice canyon other than the third grade scribblings at the bottom half - lots of poison oak to scare me away as well
So if today is the closure day I can say I did it legal ...

Ran up Baldy Friday with Shin, ran into Ellen on the summit, then went back on Sunday afternoon with Yeit/Jeff and did it again. OK it wasn't running but something close to that though, 1:37 on Friday (Personal Best for me) and 1:55 on Sunday (a bit hot and spent from Friday's go at it).

Good luck Sean, that's a big day.
I'm a little burnt from the past three weekends, 9 Peaks, 26 miles on the PCT and then Fish Fork this past weekend so I'm out.
I hope like hell you make it been wanting to see that bad boy checked off for some time.
Like Taco said the TR will be epic

Nice to see Elwood out and putting up TR's again.
We were not that far from you at one point during your adventure, you were staying dry, we were getting soaked south of you.
Great pictures and TR.
Hope to see you on the trail again soon

Thanks Taco for leading another super fun, crazy, cold, wet adventure down a canyon - I had a blast, little beat up but that's to be expected on epic's.

Your right Tekewin this pic from 12th Dec 2013 shows the marker post was still standing then, I think it was only held up by a few rocks.
Mike/Uncle, as for the Iron summits I had nothing better to do when I lived close by in Glendora. Apart from drinking of course.

Nice work Sean, that walk around from Harwood to Baldy/Dawson saddle can be a nerve racking adventure done it in trail shoes with snow and ice only once, and twice with crampons still scares the crap out of you.

Yorba Linda and Chino Hills provide plenty of food for those pups, they have climbed over six foot fences and attacked my dog Charlie before, 14 puncture wounds to be exact, but alas he got great mouth fulls of fur as well, such is the cycle of life. Great pictures Richard

Looking to get a new sleeping bag, have a credit at Cabela's of all places so I'm trying to use that up before the holidays are over, I'll get extra discounts.
Any way they are limited to some Kelty Dri-down bags and some other limited selections.

How much water do you figure you'll need to carry if you aren't using springs or caches?
To me that would depend on the heat of the day, I'd guess 6 liters to be safe.
Otherwise you will cramp to no end.

I suspect that Sean is right, when you view the lake from North to South on Google Earth the lake has a drainage that lines up directly with that debris field and continues on a straight line up and over to the next lower canyon.
