Re: Dec. 5th, 2010: 'Experienced' hiker missing on Baldy
There was 14 of us hiking together on Saturday, Cindy included, I do not recall seeing a solo Asian female hiker. We were down by 2 PM and there were at least 20 other groups on the mountain that day. Conditions were very icy as it was windy with spindrift and faint but fresh drissel snow which was ...

Did you go up the face of the bowl?
Is that a "Giga Mike Sighting"?
Nice pictures norma, the cloud just adds character to the shots - and gives you copy rights

Great Pictures Taco, it's crazy that while you were in that "pea soup" we were in sunshine just 1,000 feet higher and 6 miles west - I'd like to hit that canyon when there's slightly more snow in there - thanks for sharing that report.

Register Ridge Harwood Baldy 11-24-2010
Register Ridge to Harwood then over to Baldy, down the rim of the bowl to main trail back to car. Snow was all the way down to parking lot when we arrived - icy on the black top. Crampons needed from 1/3 the way up register ridge until we came all the way back around to Ski Hut - extremely icy on th...

Congrats on the traverse! There is some really nice scenery on that ridge. Re: Back in the saddle again

Rumor has it that "stubby" was spotted in the Cucamonga Wilderness :D IHC to IHS, W. Ridge to Bighorn Up, S. Ridge down, played in two of the canyons that come off the summit and came out 300 yards below the saddle, not to crowded, wind was blowing 40+ on top of Bighorn, views were great. ...

There's a road that leads to the Top of Mount Laguna that you can take on the way out to Anza Borrego called Sunrise Highway, about ten miles north of the actual summit is a pullout on a road called Kwaaymii Point Road. Find that road and go the 1/4 mile down it, you can see all the way across all o...

Between 13 and 14 hours, the cross country travel will make it slower than trail miles so that adds extra time, the ridge travel and runnig will allow you to make up sometime but not enough to bring it under twelve, best guess, solo or one other person?
