Mcphersonm80 - great trip report and pictures, I realy like the deep dark blue tone you picked up in some of those photos, yesterday it was especially blue in the sky and on the ridgeline above baldy bowl I was hoping my camera would capture that but it only did a few times. Congrats on making the s...

@Bert - the ski lift is open so there's a fair amount of traffic coming and going from there - yesterday (midweek) wasn't bad at all.

Friday afternoon should be easy, it's Saturday that will be the joke - it will be a zoo getting out of there.

Taco, thanks for leading the way, great route, great fun, lots of post holing, typical right after a few good days of fresh snow. @Dave - without the harness I didn't feel comfortable doing the pure rock and ice sections, I paid the price in deep snow, some of it up to my waist and had to use the ic...

...to me the scariest part of the whole climb was the last mile of pure uneven ice along the ice house canyon trail between chapman trail and the cars, all that beat down trail from everyone tracking through there sent me on my butt twice - it was slicker than butter in a frying pan. :D Happy New Y...

Snow is at 7,000 feet and above, the last crossing of the creek might be a wet one, someone threw down some plywood in the afternoon but more rain might wash that down stream.

Baldy. I read somewhere that she was planning to descend Devil's Backbone. I suspect she mistakenly des...
