Very Nice report Calicokat, pictures are always great as well.
How far from the car did you guys travel, round trip wise, summit wise, was it snow shoes the whole time?
That looks to be a great place to do some winter climbing in a mild winter Great job all around

Re: SNOW - Questions, Forecasts & Reports About Snow
Burchey, there's more than enough snow on the northside trails or chutes to find some decent snow, it's the south side that is in bad shape. BadenPowell has snow on the north side, San Gorgonio does as well, depends how far you want to go, how much you are looking for and how willing you are to trav...

Re: Eaton Canyon 2/6/11
Very, very nice, there maybe a new hobby in my future, going downhill on very hot days in the spring through cool water sounds more fun than fighting the uphill battle of places like Iron mountain in that hot weather  Thanks Cougarmagic for sharing that - does give me shivers when I think abo...

Re: Adventure filled weekend!
rokclimbr - Great TR, nice pictures, way to knock out three peaks in one day. Simonov is correct., the upper end of the canyon used to get more running water and major frozen chunks of ice were carted down to the parking lot area, carved up and delivered on trucks to the urban areas. I've never seen...

Thanks so much dude! That sounds great! I will try to get out of school but I think I can because climbing is part of my senior project so I can get out of school as part of my project. That is so not fair. HJ Had I tried that they would have laughed in my face (the highest spot in Michigan i...

Nice work JJpicts and company, very nice photos, those sunset shots were fantastic, we saw that same color on the drive home - was explaining to the other guys that with a tripod and slow shutter speed on the camera you can make that kind of sunset look surreal. Quick question, did you go up the big...

Good for him for giving such a big challenge a try, he's from the U P and that's some cold country so he's not new to being outdoors during some seriously cold times, I hope he makes it

Re: Joshua Tree: GT Road to Berdoo Canyon Rd.
I fell a couple times on the bionic leg but in the sand - can't get my brain to change pattern and fall to the right. Most cyclists fall to the left...it's hard to change. Ride was 7 hrs. and around 60 miles. I wonder why that is, I'm thinking back to all the times I've bailed on my bike and 99% of...

Re: 20110206 Eaton Canyon Falls
Walked the dog and girlfriend up to Eaton Canyon Falls. It was crowded, I don't think I ever was out of view of another hiker. Lots of dogs, lots of tourists, only saw two pieces of graffiti. Tromping though the water felt great! I ran into Dominik and CougarMagic rappelling down the falls. They lo...

Jepson Peak by way of "Snaggle-Tooth" Couloir
Another fun climb in the San Bernardino Mountains. Jeff Scofield (Yeti) called me on Thursday to ask if I wanted to do a couloir leading up the east face of the north ridge of Jepson Peak in the big draw or big bowl, call it what you want. Since Zach and I had already made plans to do Dobbs, Jepson ...
