Thanks Dave. The snow conditions were great and I was able to move pretty fast. Plus I needed to get back to Manker asap before the heavy snow arrived.

How long until your able to climb again?

Yeah, that bridge is always slippery. I drove up a little earlier (got to Manker at 5:40 and only one other car was before me) and there was still fresh gravel on the road. I bet after more cars drove up the gravel disappeared and the road got worse.

I lost traction on the second to last switchback and had to back down. I was able to get up the second time. Sometimes FWD is cool.

Yep, Baldy Brew is to the right of Lightning. I agree, the snow condtions today were just about perfect.

Hey Hamik, it was good meeting you yesterday. I didn't see your upper shell, but I did find a Cal Tech Ice Axe on the trail just below the Ski Hut. I stuck it in the snow next to the trail where I found it.
