Yeah, I already called SPOT and had the unit suspended.
Thanks, Jim.

Re: Lost & Found
On July 4th, I was heading down the Devil's Backbone trail and my SPOT fell off my pack around 10am. Someone picked it up about 10 minutes later and took it to the summit and then turned it off. I called the Mt. Baldy Visitor Center with no luck so far. It's a SPOT 2, color orange and in the origina...

Re: VIDEOS - Post or link to videos!
Taco,
Thanks for the awesome slideshow video. It was great to join you on a few climbing adventures this season and hopefully more in the future.
Btw, nice job climbing all over the SG Mountains. You really showed everyone (including me) what it has to offer in the winter.

Nice pictures, Mark.
Btw, I forgot to add that I found a vest on the summit and took it with me since it was late in the day. I'll return it to the owner if they can describe it.

Great pics, cougarmagic. I've only done Eaton once, but hopefully I'll get to go again this year.
Btw, when I did Eaton in 2008 that big log was there. It looks like its been there for a while.

Hi EMan & Blooty, It was great to run into you both on my way up. The Register Ridge route was a fantastic choice. The weather was simply awesome for late May! http://www.digitalalpine.com/2010-Pictures/Mt-Baldy-52310/P1160739/876757339_cmHn8-M-1.jpg http://www.digitalalpine.com/2010-Pictures/Mt...

I think the only thing used from the original car were the badges
Sweet video. I like how they were looking where they were going through the SIDE window!

Re: It's not in the San Gabriels...
Thanks, Patrick.
Total mileage was 15 with 7,700' elevation gain. I kept the crampons on the entire time above the Notch and stayed on the snow as much as possible. The down climbing was a little tricky, especially on the rocks.

It's not in the San Gabriels, but I thought some of you might enjoy my pictures from Mt. Whitney this past Saturday. The snow conditions were very good for March, so I was able to move at a good pace. The conditions above the Notch were a little surprising but fun nevertheless. http://www.digitalalp...

Re: Tanner Foust - Master Drifter
Great videos, Ryan! Yeah, drifting is cool shit! I started watching Japanese drifting probably about 8 years ago and slowly watched as it made it's way to the United States. It took a long time for people here to understand drifting, but it is now full bore. I only wish I knew Japanese! One of the r...

Re: San Gorgonio compared to Baldy: Total effort?
Jim, your plan sounds good to me, although I wouldn't recommend returning the way I did this past weekend. Going cross country back to South Fork Meadows can be a pain. If you have not done this before, you might regret it. There are many ridges and gulleys and it can be confusing. I would suggest g...

Patrick- Thanks. It took me about 4.75 hrs to summit Jepson Peak, 5.5hrs to summit Gorgonio and 3 hrs to descend. Jepson Peak & San Gorgonio - 3.13.10

yes, you should have no problem hiking to the ski hut without crampons.
