Re: Baldy Memorial Day
Did you notice if there was much water running at the spring above the hut? Going up this weekend and want to plan my water supply. Cheers.

Re: Mt. Rainier via Kautz Glacier
Congrats on your climb! I never posted a report here on my climb up the Ingraham Direct route in May. Our group summited a few days before the Ingraham avalanche buried 11 climbers - sadly one died. It has been a strange experience for me. This is an incredible mountain and I will be back next seaso...

Re: New Wheels & Tires
I decided on the Eibach Pro-Kit. 1.2f/1.0r drop. That should cut out the wheel gap completely without having the tucked in/under look. I am doing it tomorrow so I will post a pic when I am done. Will decide on rear spacers once its dropped.

Re: New Wheels & Tires
Yes, the Conti SportSomethings - very forgettable. I am not sure yet. I will do either H&R or Eibach. I have had Eibach on two other cars and I liked the way they rode but I know most BMW guys use H&R. My trouble is finding good information on how low I can go with the 20s. I'll post another...

Re: New Wheels & Tires
Thanks.
I heard similar things about the Invos before I got them, and I've only had them two days but wow what a difference from the Continental tires I had previously. What suprised me most was how quiet they are and how smooth for being 30 series.

Very cool. Looked a little sketchy topping out inside that bush/tree. I am gonna have to learn to ice climb someday.

Re: Youtube song of the day
The Grover post reminded me of one of my favorites from Sesame Street:
You tell me. . .was the San Francisco trolley car riding up the rainbow some kind of subliminal (or maybe supraliminal) message or was Sesame Street just ultra progressive in the 1970's?

Freakin' awesome!!! My last project was a 1968 El Camino with a 4 bolt main 350 that I turned into a Vortec stroker motor at 383ci with a good torquey Crane cam and a Barry Grant 750cfm Speed Demon carb. Hauled ass! Then I sold it. I am curerntly looking for a 1966 Nova to build and keep. Keep us po...

Wow, awesome!!! Thanks for sharing Zach. Meg is so right when she says that the Andes have a different feel than any other mountain range. I spent a few years of my life in Venezuela and had the chance to climb a few 15,000 - 16,000 foot Andean peaks and I totally agree the Andes are very special. I...

Rumpled- Thanks for the map link, even better thanks for the introduction to Acme Mapper. It's funny to me that both my maps labeled Deer Canyon as Calamity Canyon and made no mention of the name Deer. Everything I read on the internet before the climb called it Deer though. I am going to go back up...

I am gonna try to be parked at the top of Haven and then on the trail by 5:30am. I think I am going to stay left and go up Calamity Canyon. It seems like once you hit Cucamonga Truck Trail you go east less than a half mile before you hit the sharp bend in the road (discussed on SummitPost) which sig...
