Re: Taco's Ongoing Minor Trip Report Feed

That is gnarly washout.

Could you determine where the current western closure point of the 2 is? Is it still Three Points? It must have been dark or nearly so when you were there...

it's closed at "the 6,000 foot gate" and it will remain like that for the foreseeable future. "it was the gate ...

Re: Taco's Thoughts, Rants, Etc.

What’s with the term ‘lived experience’? Is there an unlived experience?

Sounds like adding more words to something to sound smart.

this is really funny to me. what is the difference between an experience and a lived experience?

i googled it. it's a translation of the german word, erlebnis ...

Re: Red Box, Barley Flats truck trail, Lawlor, Cable route

this MIGHT be from "history of pasadena." i don't know where this is from but i had it copy pasted somewhere so i thought i would share it:

"Years ago, before the Angeles Crest Highway was a
reality, Shortcut Canyon felt the trod of many boots and
hooves. Its busy trail, built in 1893 by Louie ...

Re: Tahquitz via Whodunit 5.9

the yosemite grade system was invented at tahquitz (first published by chuck wilts 1956). so the original 5.0-5.9 are at tahquitz. tahquitz was the benchmark for all the other places to be graded from.

yosemite grades are very similar to tahquitz, as are josh (maybe a little softer). there might be ...

Re: Hiking Map Project

you can add lines to leaflet to show a gps route. (i might be wrong about how but i think you export your line in to a json and then you copy and paste that json code into your leaflet code. but i don't know how any of that works with the Datasette tool, sorry).
