17th and 16th right?
Ok, would it be ok if I asked where that is?
I mean, I’ve seen the square set timbering in the mine. Is it the one on the upper level (as you have informed me)? That mine is very disorienting.

Re: New Shots / Big Horn Mine
It’s definitely recent and I definitely wouldn’t climb it. I was just curious if someone has been up there.

Re: New Shots / Big Horn Mine
The only standing ladder I've seen is in really bad shape. And I wouldn't trust any ladders in mines. I'm not sure where the stacked ladders are. The only one I've seen is in a shaft and it's missing the lower half. That one leads up to a grating that's keeping some huge rocks from falling down. Yo...

Re: New Shots / Big Horn Mine
I’ve been to that mine about 4 times but still can’t find how to get to the upper level. Is there any chance you can clue me in? Re: A mine and a gully to Devil's Canyon
Welcome and welcome back! I'm glad the compressor is still there despite not being nailed down. TFitz: did you make a loop with the trail down to the creek and the gully up to the mine? Any water at all in the gully? I've been to this one three times. The first time I trespassed through the Cal Tra...

Re: A mine and a gully to Devil's Canyon
“The easiest way to access this mine is to park in a large pullout just below the maintenance yard and walk across Angeles Crest Hwy slightly north to a dirt road leading to Mt. Mooney. After a few hundred feet walk off the road to the left (near some big boulders) and start looking for the shed in ...
