It's basically the south east side of Jones peak. It branches off the Mt Wilson trail as a straight shot north-westward up to Jones.

Re: Bailey Canyon Jones Peak Hastings Peak Mt Wilson Loop

It's a lovely hike despite the slight overgrowth. I did this from Lizzie's via Bastard Ridge last December when there was snow from the toll road and up. The last bit before the roll road looks steep from afar but like you said there's definitely decent footing for it.

Awesome! RR to Harwood, Baldy, W Baldy is my favorite go hike to Baldy these days. Quick and short, yet you get enough elevation gain to train the legs.

Was on the connector last year and it was good.

Going up to Wilson via "Bastard's Ridge" starting from Lizzy's Inn -> Jones -> Hastings -> Toll Rd -> Wilson is a great hike.

Nice pics! Not sure how I feel about the potatoes up top. At least they're consolidated in one spot lol. I never been up to potato mtn before but I definitely need to try out the "secret route"! Hope your knee heals soon!

I had just helped installed a trail sign at the Waterman, 3 points, twin peaks junction that same day Jo got lost. Feels ironic. Glad he was found safe.

What an awesome bobcat! Usually so skittish. I've been on the Rim Trail once and I remember it being kind of slanted downhill so I always felt like I was side hilling. Yea felt like that at some points along the trail but I think it's better now. I was quite surprised the bobcat didn't seem to care...

Rim Trail & Sturtevant Trail Loop to Mt Wilson

Went up via East and then down West maybe 2 months ago for the first time. Saw all those downed trees and had a few instances where I thought the branches would rip something I was wearing! Going up the East side I was a bit wary of the initial climb because MTBers can definitely bomb down it withou...

The USGS topo maps show this: https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/i.imgur.com/TjBiZgG.png Maybe it's the trail just N/NW of the mine leading to it? It does seem to cross very high elevation gain as it exits the narrows? But the image you posted show what appear to be a trail elevating from left t...
