Dudes and dudettes:
We might bring a lot more traffic to this site by taking Eispiraten stickers on climbs and leaving piles of them in summit registers.
Just an idea.

Re: Kellys Camp Spring (Ontario Peak Trail)
Man, I sure hope the spring is frozen, as you suggest. Springs can suddenly turn off and turn on for a variety of geological reasons. It would really be a bummer if the spring was off permanently, because it helps to make Kelly's Camp my favorite camping site in the San Gabes.

Re: BALDY - Archive of Mt. Baldy-related Discussions
As you approach the Baldy Ski Hut from below, you cross a bubbling stream. If you look up the course of this stream, you will see the Ski Hut outhouse perched serenely above the stream. What's up with that? How can they stick an outhouse right at the top of a watercourse? And does the outhouse use a...

Re: Turn outs
If you are traveling at or over the speed limit, why pull over for someone just because they want to do 70 down a mountain road? Short answer: because I want to be as far from a guy like that as possible. In any case, it's not for me to decide what the safe speed should be, especially if I'm alread...

Re: Turn outs
Because most people are assholes. Or maybe they just NEVER EVER look in their rear-view mirrors. Remember, never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity . Personally, I will pull over at the next turnout if there is a single car behind me. I hate having people ride my ass d...

Re: Stickers! Stickers! Stickers!
In my business, we hand out logo stickers at every opportunity. One is included in every product package, for example. Tracie got a few with the Eispiraten stickers. My office is here in the barrio, and every few weeks these two little Mexican kids, maybe 10 years old, come round begging for sticker...

Not a trip report: Baldy, 30 May 2010
In case anyone wants to see conditions on the Ski Hut and Baldy Bowl trails, I was up there on Sunday, and took a few pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/simonov/se ... 176539758/ Maintaining my record of always meeting someone I know on the mountain, I ran into Vitaly ( mve ) just below the summit.

Two years went by without much happening, when suddenly a month ago I experienced a burst of creative vigor and started grinding out designs based loosely on a Jolly Roger figure ...
