What have we become.
Well, it's official. There's nothing left to accomplish, I've climbed every single peak in the world.

That would be rad. Thanks a bunch. I know they close the road getting close to winter, if it closes, I'll just hike Acorn Trail then go up from there.
Thanks again.

I think I'm ready for Lhotse now, maybe Everest over the weekend, gotta save up 25 more dollars though.
Taco, thanks for waiting for my slow ass. I know you wanted to jog the whole thing.
Maybe we could do Ski Hut 95 more times next week. It's such a forgiving, treeless trail.

Had fun, more to follow I hope.

Oh Great.
I've seen quite a few of those in Iraq. Hellfire makes a pretty nice flyswatter for those who think it's a good idea to mount in the back of a truck and point in Friendlies direction. KaBOOOOM!!

Note to self. Keep Shiny Airplanes away from Hikin_Jim.
That's pretty funny,
I'll make sure and do an anti-aircraft jig when near any summits. Just in case.

Re: Aircraft for Aerial photos.
that would be easy to plan. A week or so before the flight I will plan all the peaks to be passed. Baldy can be tricky with the winds and the heat in the summer. I've experienced some pretty drastic downdrafts up there. Maybe not the best peak, but suset peak is a good one, iron mt, (no one will wan...

Prob. off topic. But these are youtube links to the aircraft I will use for the Aerial Photos of Peaks. (Taco, you're up in about a month or less) I am flying the airplane in all videos. All footage shot by my back seater, Jack. If there is a second aircraft in the shots, that is Fred, and he will n...

I know. The T-storm started pretty heavy the moment we got into the car. People were probably mid way, to just reaching the summit when it hit.
And you wonder why people go missing or have to be rescued out of our mountains.

Re: Baden ON Monday.
Baden today was great. We were among the first few peeps to start the trail around 7:30. Weather was awesome, cool, overcast. T-Storms on the way down.
Holy Hell, about 5 million hikers coming up the trail as we were coming down. Guess everyone had the same idea to hit it on Sunday.

Re: Josephine Peak: 07-05-2008
Good Idea. I did Josephine from Colby and Really liked the trail. I kinda just need to knock out Strawberry and Lawlor for my HPS list. So, depending on how much time i've got, either route seems like a plan.
Thanks.

I've been wanting to knock out Lawlor and Strawberry for the longest time but don't want to drive all the way out there. Maybe we could set up a carpool, split the gas and head out if anybody wants to do those two from RedBox.

Probably a Stoooopid Question
I'm trying to avoid spending alot of $$$ on some new winter mountaineering pants. Does any one know of a good cheap pair of pants that would be comfortable with steep grade climbs using crampons?
Any ideas would be awesome.

I don't personally know any hippies or ever seen anybody hugging a tree, but I would hug any hippies I met that help pass the new wilderness bill. My wife and I were hiking in Hawaii, on Maui and saw a woman, no sh!t giving a tree a HUGE hug. She hugged that thing for at least 10minutes solid. Gott...

Iodine is a beatuful thing. I drank stagnant pooled water in the mountains in washington. Put some iodine in it, with no ill aftereffects, and it didn't really taste that bad. You can also use chlorine bleach (just regular, not scented) and add about 2-3 drops per quart, maybe 4 if it's dirty water....
