Re: Another Baldy Area Closure
They’re pretty tall and pointy. You could fall pretty far! Also I think they might have snow and be just as deadly scary dangerous murder death kill as baldy. Nooooo, that’s not possible! Nothing is as dangerous as Baldy! That’s why it’s closed, because it makes sense!
Idk if you're being ...

Re: The Harvard Branch of Eaton's Canyon
Hello Mathew:
This is Joseph speaking. Congratulations on finding one of my favorite places, Havard branch. Next time you visit hike further up to the year round stream that flows from the slopes of Mt Harvard into Harvard branch. Hike up this tributary and you will find a US geological survey ...

Re: Death Valley MTB mine transit: Chloride City to Big Bell mine to Keane Wonder mine
I have a couple ideas but I'm scared to say.
1. They took the truck apart completely then reassembled it at the mine.
2. Trestle
3. Offroad all the way

Re: Death Valley MTB mine transit: Chloride City to Big Bell mine to Keane Wonder mine
I love it all! I used to scour the old mrds website and make all these plans to visit these mines. I used to think that I had to get a Jeep to visit but now that I bike, my horizons have opened. One day.
Nice pics though! Amazes me to see all this

Great story. You are your family are good people. Its a little sad and also kind of endearing that Earl felt most at home in his mine.
I've been thinking about that for so many years man. It's interesting how differently some people perceive their situation and what's best for them. We all do ...

I went higher up in the canyon. Found many quartz veins along the fault but no gold in any of the banks right below all the faults. Big sad

I was hoping to get up to the Waterman area at the end of March... this is not giving me much hope the 2 will be open that far
Right now you can get to Three Points. Close enough?
Rumors passed on by me.

Earl Jay Buckley
Earl Jay Buckley is a man who spent a decade or so living in an exploratory mine in Las Flores Canyon from around 2007 to 2017. Some of you may have referred to him as, “Christmas Man” since he decorated the entrance of his mine with Christmas tinsels and ornaments. I feel like others have passed by ...

Re: Thee Gold Miner Named Matthew
today I decided to venture up canyon to see if the gold flakes get bigger or more plenty. I hopped into a side canyon that intersects with some faults much higher up. To my surprise, there's still running water in this canyon even though it's been over a month since our last storm. I found a nice ...

Re: Thee Gold Miner Named Matthew
Took my dad and brother gold prospecting at my spot yesterday! Even though I've been pulling out tons of gold and sending them pics, they still believe that I was just excited and was actually pulling out fool's gold. I guaranteed them that we'll pull out at least 5 flakes and they didn't agree ...

Re: Eaton Fire area open now?
At this point, we all know that Sasquatch is the only one allowed into all closures and the government doesn't care. It's been exploring the bridge fire burn area since the bridge fire closure started and nobody has complained about that.
If sasquatch can do it, then certainly I can do it!
