IM RICH!!!!!!
Visited a remote canyon and found a pit with some tools that looked like they've been there for a decade. First bucket of material yielded my first ever pieces of gold! Will be back tomorrow

Reviving this thread! I've always been one to pick up new hobbies and interests that revolve around being in nature so I naturally have come to gain interest in gold prospecting in the "gabes". Will be posting some findings soon!

Re: Eaton Fire area open now?
At this point, we all know that Sasquatch is the only one allowed into all closures and the government doesn't care. It's been exploring the bridge fire burn area since the bridge fire closure started and nobody has complained about that.
If sasquatch can do it, then certainly I can do it!

I think you gotta wait for a forest closure termination order that has a termination date. You'll see those for the bridge fire

Don't stop sharing these since I'm now more devoted to the PL&P mission than ever before!

I've been hanging out on the forum for a while to check the condition reports (thanks for the info on the state of the trails after the recent rains), so I've finally decided to open an account. My username is Paramor. I spend most of my free time in the San Gabriels. I prefer remote off-piste ...

Imma say it here. San Gabriels have the best rock for climbing too. Our grand canyon is bigger. Also baldy is superior to Whitney in every way. Cogswell dam holds more water than hetch hechy but haters will say otherwise

It was a pretty lame hot day at work with not a ton of business. I probably only made a few cool pieces of latte art on some drinks but the vibes and mental state of the day was lame as hell. The day was a Monday which was my "Friday" for the week and it was also a holiday, yet I was working ...

Yes we wandered around. We didnt go on the private property just walked by it on the road where you can access the main trail.
Considering my crew did all of the work on the trail and we had to study the entire area to be allowed to do the work, I'm obviously very aware of pretty much exactly ...

Re: Scofflaws hiking through burn areas
The issue with the San Gabriels is there is no one really in charge. No one has a vision for the range. Different areas are under different jurisdictions and funding is minimal. Fire safety seems to be the top priority, if anything at all. Unless there are endangered species, as I recently posted ...

.
You guys are true pioneers for even trying that! Would it be better to take Bear Creek Trail from Smith Mt TH? Then from Upper Bear Trail Camp go up that canyon (just slightly northeast of your route) for a ways before moving west at 3200' to the ridge?
That could work, but the approach from ...
