Re: Solo San Antonio Ridge Traverse
Having just completed Iron Mtn. for the first time a few weeks ago I am in awe of you. I needed 5 liters to go out and back on Iron. Nice job! Thank you much! The early start always helps and I have been told by a lot of the running community that hydrating well the few days before a race is a good...

Re: Wilderness Crest Trail (Cucamonga Peak)
Nice trip report.
This is one of my new favorites as it has very little traffic.

Re: Cloudripper
Is Rupert a Beaver or a Marmot? I'm assuming Marmot because of where I found him (away from water, on a hillside at the treeline) and the size (skull is about 9cm long). If you have more informed thoughts, I'd love to hear them. I would have to say it is more likely to be Marmot. Beaver teeth are t...

Re: Bear Flat Trail (Baldy Village)
Don't trust the Forest Service to keep their Web site up to date. There are things on there that are over a year old and haven't been updated yet. The closure order for the Old Baldy Trail expired August 20, 2015. I figured as much. I guess the only way to find out for sure is to call, but it seams...

Re: Where to buy Kahtoola Microspikes
I bought mine back in early December at Rei, they were the last pair.
The last two years I tried to find them in Feb. I could not.
Good luck!

Re: Cucamonga Peak from San Sevaine Rd 101010
I've got a Toyota FJ Team Edition. It'd cruise the road without issue. I could be talked into this hike. Been eyeballing it on the map for 40 years. My FJ made it in 2 wheel drive with no problem. It's not that the road is difficult it's just a long way to the trailhead approx. 1 hr. 15 min. Might ...

Re: Cucamonga Peak from San Sevaine Rd 101010
Yes I did this hike on November 8th. The road to the trail head took approx. 1hr. 10 min and was in very good condition, easily made by any 2 wheel drive vehicle with decent clearance. Started the hike around 6:30 am and was quite surprised at what great condition this trail was in for the exception...

Re: Cucamonga Peak from San Sevaine Rd 101010

I and going to try to get this one in next Saturday the 8th of Nov. if anyone is interested in joining. I have a very capable 4x4.
