Re: Another "hiker" injured at Eaton Canyon

I say shut down the razorback. Blow it up, grow a forest of poison oak on it, or place an armored guard at its beginning. AND check this out: Eaton Canyon descent becomes PERMIT ONLY. AND Each canyoneer must pack out 3 pieces of trash or remove 3 pieces of graffiti. (to be checked by armored guard a...

Re: Sport Climbs

Point dume: climbed there a few times. Get there early, the easier face (5.8's and such) gets booked up pretty early on, and they tend to sit there all day. The rock is greasy but still pretty fun, ocean side even more greasy. MOST people top rope all of the routes, need a good chunk of webbing for ...

Anybody ever explore Little Bear Canyon?

Hiking past Switzer Falls today I took a little detour up Little Bear. I scrambled up the first 3 falls. It was nice and narrow, running water, now I'm wondering whats above it.

Re: SNOW - Questions, Forecasts & Reports About Snow

Here in Palmdale (2000 ft) we got hammered! I can only imagine what our side of the SG's got. Probably 7-8 inches where I live, snowed all day and only stopped about an hour ago. I've never seen snow fall like this in Palmdale. You can go outside and listen for about 5 minutes before you hear a tree...

Fight on: that looks like the one Kit Fox: They did not provide a map. I would hope they just mean from the south fork campground up, leaving the manzanita and the punchbowl trail available. Seems to me if they were gonna close down anything it'd be the lower section of the creek near the cabins, bu...

Re: Chunk of PCT: Vincent's Gap to Mill Creek Summit

The rattlesnake trail section looks like it sees a couple visitors every week. Some spots are overgrown and eroded, but I probably saw more footprints here than the backside of Pacifico. I've seen them in the Sierra's as well, apparently they do very well in cold climates. They've always said trout ...

Thanks folks, Frogs: Although I'm sure they are probably there, I didn't see any. They are thinking about shutting down south fork of Big Rock Creek for the same reason. Yeah if they are working on that road, then I'll steer clear. But if its still in its "used at your own risk" condition thats ok.

That pano is really cool, I dig the other ones too.

Anyway, I'll save this one for a weekend with nicer weather.

Re: Pacifico Mountain Road (3N17)

Horse flats has the Top Rope wall. Short steep hike up, I can't remember but I think it takes a full 60m rope. Anchor is an obvious tree. There is also a nice 5.7 crack that would make a good lead (I think it only goes halfway up) You can also top rope some of the high ball bouldering routes in the ...
