Re: Tip toe through the PDB: Sunset Peak
I did Lookout Mtn from Cow Saddle and just sneaked in behind the gate with some friends. There is an opening by the rocks. I think the gates are just to scare people. No one was actually on the property. I believe the trail is part of the Angeles National Forest so they really can't stop anyone from ...

Of course! I am always prepared.

JOSEPHINE PEAK IN THE SNOW!
First time I've seen snow at Josephine Peak. It was a chilly 35-degrees and windy at the summit. I brought some hot apple cider to keep warm.
It was a another beautiful day well spent in the San Gabes.

SMITH MOUNTAIN
Last Thursday, two friends joined me on a hike to Smith Mountain. Standing tall at 5,111 this peak is a great workout. The last 800 feet of climbing packs a punch. This was my fourth time bagging this peak but and It has been at least 6 years or more since I hiked the upper Bear Canyon trail ...

ORCHARD CAMP
A couple of weeks ago I checked out the re-opening of the Mt. Wilson trail.
I met a friend at Lizzies Inn and began the hike on the Mt. Wilson trail. We then ascended Charlies trail then re-joined the main trail to Orchard Camp. The trail was nice. From Charlies trail the views were awesome and we ...

Uncle Rico-IMO anyone can walk through on that road past the private properties. We did. It is an open road even though some may have other opinions. I do not know about the parcels.

FALL CREEK TRAIL
Two weeks ago, Bill and I planned a carpool shuttle and hiked Fall Creek trail. We met at Hidden Springs campground. After a short drive, we started at the white gate. It was a late start, around 8:30 am but the weather was good. It was overcast with some cool cloud formations above us. It turned ...

Yes we wandered around. We didnt go on the private property just walked by it on the road where you can access the main trail.
Considering my crew did all of the work on the trail and we had to study the entire area to be allowed to do the work, I'm obviously very aware of pretty much exactly ...

Cool report! I would love to do something like this. Nobody around in the middle of nowhere. By the way your shoes look thrashed!
I love the pools. Thank God you made it out safely but next time take a beacon. We don't need another missing pirate.
