I am so behind on posting but here goes.

Just a little background, my friend Justin, is currently working on clearing the ridge that leads to all three peaks. Getting to ...

Re: Racing the sun to Point 2298

Was that your first time towards Rocky peak? There are alot of cool caves around that area. When you have more time to explore you will also find a couple of cool waterfalls but pretty sure it is dry right now. I use to go up there alot with my Wednesday group. There is also a cool cave with a swing ...

Colorado has some pretty awesome 14ers. I follow a group on facebook and they are very helpful with questions regarding the peaks.
I love Colorado and wish I could climb some of them. Good luck and have fun!

What a cool outing guys! And I love that article Matthew. The first and last time I heard a mating call was when Jeff, Sean and I camped at Crystal lake. It is pretty terrifying. I enjoyed reading your trip report.

Re: Missing forum member (Colin Walker)

I was just reading this thread again thinking about that beautiful Rose peak we climbed in 2023. Sooo sad to believe that it was the last time Colin would be hiking. His 3 year anniversary is approaching. It would be nice if we could go back there for a memorial hike.
RIP

David- So my friend Justin (rock hounder) recently did some trail work up to Baja Fortaleza if you start from Etiwanda Preserve. That is where I started with the intention of doing all three peaks. But yes, it was a very hot day! So, I shall go back.
Justin is planning on making a route through ...

I did Lookout Mtn from Cow Saddle and just sneaked in behind the gate with some friends. There is an opening by the rocks. I think the gates are just to scare people. No one was actually on the property. I believe the trail is part of the Angeles National Forest so they really can't stop anyone from ...

JOSEPHINE PEAK IN THE SNOW!

First time I've seen snow at Josephine Peak. It was a chilly 35-degrees and windy at the summit. I brought some hot apple cider to keep warm.
It was a another beautiful day well spent in the San Gabes.

Last Thursday, two friends joined me on a hike to Smith Mountain. Standing tall at 5,111 this peak is a great workout. The last 800 feet of climbing packs a punch. This was my fourth time bagging this peak but and It has been at least 6 years or more since I hiked the upper Bear Canyon trail ...
