Re: Next group hike
I am unfamiliar with the rules about deer hunters and hikers. Is Orange a standard color to wear? Why can't I just wear another cool color like Bright Pink? lol. If deer hunters are so concerned about hikers talking then they shouldn't be hunting near the campgrounds. Seriously, it pisses me off. Th...

Re: Stickers! Stickers! Stickers!
Dima,
Sean gave me some (black ones) but having a new design would be cool. I love those old ones that Simonov had anyways, let me know what other designs you have. I think the last time we hiked you let me pick one but I can't remember what they looked like.

KINGS CREEK FALLS
After bagging Lassen Peak, we drove to Kings Creek trailhead. This is a short hike to the falls with other trails to explore. Most of the trail is exposed. Just above the falls is a viewing area with a bench. However three of us crazies wanted to get up close and personal, so we scrambled down a ste...

Along the drive of the Volcanic National Park you can stop to view very active and bubbly Sulphur works.

BROKEOFF MTN AKA MT TEHAMA 9235'
After bagging Lassen Peak 5 of us left the group and headed off to Brokeoff Mountain Trailhead which is located a short distance before entering the Visitor Center. 42761200_10213090708245639_7156660273967792128_n.jpg This is a very beautiful trail but has more distance and gain than Lassen. However...

LASSEN PEAK 10,463
The next day after visiting Burney Falls, we drove to Lassen Volcanic Nat'l Park. Mt. Lassen is the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range of the Western United States. The area is active with boiling mud pots, and stinking fumaroles. One of the most popular was the Sulphur Works. The firs...

Burney Falls
I had the opportunity to visit Burney Falls in Burney, California with one of my hiking groups. It was a long 10-hour drive with a bunch of backseat drivers who were very annoying and drove me nuts! I usually drive solo on these long trips but I really admire the leader of the group, so I did him a ...

That's right! Jeff. However, I may need a little lift from Cucamonga Man. That viewing tube looks really cool!
I like the summit area. It seems like a cool spot for lunch.

Re: Newly Restored Tom Sloan Trail
Hike Up, don't hate lol. I don't mind bikers but this trail is so beautiful. Like Tom Kenney said, maybe they will put one due to the fragility/dangers on some of the sections of the trial. I would hate to see the hard work put into this trail be destroyed, like this section here. It is a masterpiec...

Nice pics and TR. I love the pic of the red sky. I would have liked to join your adventure, but I guess we couldn't get a group to go. I hope in the future we can do a group outing. I love the Sierra's. Shepard's Pass & Army Pass were two of my favorite passes until I hiked, the beautiful Kearsa...

Re: Newly Restored Tom Sloan Trail
Tom, unfortunately, tire marks have been seen on this path and I am sure they had to walk the stairs. The entire trail is beautiful. I hate to see it ruined by bikers. I was talking with a member of the RLC and they had considered putting up a no bikes sign. Jeff, it would make a great group hike. M...

More pics of the newly restored Tom Sloan trail. Exit from the Tom Sloan Trail back to the Mount Lowe Road. 20180908_094414.jpg By the way, I counted 11 containers of H20 throughout the trail. I took pics of a few. Today would've been a good day to drink some but we had enough for our hike. Eaton S...

Newly Restored Tom Sloan Trail
I've been dying to hike the newly restored Tom Sloan trail that the Restoration Legacy Crew has been working on for months. They have about 400 more feet to complete the restoration. Today my friend Bob and I decided to do a loop hike. We started at Eaton Saddle~Mt. Lowe Road~Bear Canyon~Tom Sloan ...

Has anyone hiked Monrovia Peak, Rankin or Clamshell lately?
These three peaks are on my to-do list.
Has anyone hiked in these areas lately? what are trail conditions and how difficult is it?
Thanks in advance.
