Poppies Galore!
I finally had a chance to see some wildflowers. I woke up early on Saturday and took the long drive to Lake Elsinore. I wasn't aware at how popular this trailhead was. There was plenty of parking but it was a hot mess. I suggest going early to avoid the crowds. There are lots of trails to hike aroun...

Re: Biking in Baja
Wow Dima, you really do get around :) I think it so cool that you can find these amazing places while riding your bike and not hiking. As for the language barrier, I think you did a good job of describing the many things you understood and observed. What a treat to see the whales and many other trea...

Re: Biking in Baja
Before the big plant was built there was only a small one for icing down fishing boats. My Father and some investors bought a closed ice plant in the US and moved it to La Paz. It was a very large construction job for the sleepy town. I still remember the tart smell curing concrete in the slab for ...

Re: HIKING AND FRIENDSHIPS WITH LIKE-MINDED PEEPS
I wish I had hiking friends but I hike too slow and they all leave me behind only the cougars remain and I'm not referring to the middle age women. I am pretty sure that you are not slow. Join us anytime to hike! Sometimes, I rather go slow to enjoy the views. I don't really care for groups who wan...

HIKING AND FRIENDSHIPS WITH LIKE-MINDED PEEPS
I just wanted to express how nice it is that the forum has brought many people together. Lots of friendships have formed. We are all like-minded individuals who share the same passion for hiking. Sharing Trip reports have allowed some of us to hike mountains and explore areas that some of us though...

I lost my cell phone on President's day at the Rocky Peak trail. It's a Galaxy S8. I may have dropped it or left it on a rock after leaving the saddle going towards Rocky Peak. I reported it but I am still hopeful.

Just in case you are in the area and find it. Please let me know and hopefully, you will not post it as "now its mine!"

We never put spikes on even though we had them. It would have been great for snow shoeing.JeffH wrote: Nice day out there. With the road closures now getting to the snow is a little more difficult.
You didn't start out with spikes, did you ever put any on?

Re: Topanga Lookout
Is that spine the actual trail or a choice to do some scrambling? It's a choice for sure. My crazy group always chooses the more challenging way to do things. You can also drive to a parking area on the other side if you just want to check out the lookout tower then it's only a mile to the summit. ...

I met with my usual crazies and this time we hiked in the pouring rain. We met early to beat it but that didnt happen. We met at Stunt Road then drove to the secret trail making it a carpool shuttle. Anyways, It was a fun day of rock scrambling, hiking on muddy trails and trying not to fall on our ...

Prelude to Ladyface Ribbon Route
Exactly a year ago I hiked the infamous Ladyface Ribbon Route. It was a tough hike that included hiking all four ridges around Ladyface and bagging it twice. Stats 10 miles. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=7631&p=57034&hilit ... ute#p57034 . We decided to re-visit the peak this time completing hal...

I did a solo hike on the Chumash Trail starting from Flanagan Drive. I also found this while I was out - had to scramble into the brush and reach out with my trekking pole to snag it. Of course when I slipped it launched into another bush. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit anyone here. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190125/05247b38dc9ae...
