Re: Sabrina Basin

Nice I'm glad you made it to Midnight Lake. In my last report in the Sierras, I only made it to Dingleberry because there was a storm approaching and i didn't make it to Midnight. I also took the other trail opposite of Donkey Lake and found an easy route. Anyways, great photos! I planning on going ...

Nice to see water still flowing. So do the Newport water sandals have a good grip? How was all the stream crossings over rocks?

Girl Hiker -- Very nice pix! Sean -- I know the feeling...but there's hope! Echo Mtn Loop

Last Thursday I hiked to Echo Mountain starting at the Lower Merrell and descended the Old Echo trail making it a loop. I wanted do to a short quick hike while Sean did trail work on the Alta Loma trail haha! Not to mention, I wanted some peace and solitude. He dropped me off at the Cobb Estate then...

Hey Hiking Jim, I enjoyed reading your report. During Covid I hiked to a few peaks and waterfalls in the Cleveland National Forest because I wanted to explore a new area. It's very pretty.
Also, nice to see you posting on the Forum. We missed you.

Re: East Fork: Devil Gulch Falls and Iron Fork

Wow! Beautiful pics. They are so refreshing. I've been wanting to go back to Devil's Gulch. There use to be a rope to the right of the falls hanging on a tree. I've climbed it a couple of times to get up to the top of the waterfall. It takes a little bushwacking to get through but there is another h...

Happy to hear you are back on the trails again. I hope your recovery goes well. Nature can provide amazing healing effects.
Next time you are near the towers look for the two beach chairs that Jeremiah hid in the bushes. You can take a break and admire the scenery.

Re: Rico's Birthday Hike - May 14th

It's a lot easier to park at Middle Fork than Icehouse... At that time of day you might be walking from Baldy Lodge which will also be the same mileage. (and we already voted on the grilled cheese) :) Yeah I know! Parking is riduliculous. I would have to get there at 530am. Then I would be waiting ...

I want to go but Sean says I am slow. lmao! I remember a time when I kicked his butt on the trails. Anyways, I was thinking that I could meet you guys at Ice House Saddle to give you all a bigger incentive to make it to the top and I will bring some tasty snacks as a reward. But If I do, I will star...
