Re: Uncle Rico's Birthday Hike Vol. 6
Another beautiful day in the San Gabes celebrating Uncle Rico's b-day. The weather was perfect and we had a great group of hikers. Thanks to master chef Jeff for the scrumptious grilled cheese sandwiches that were oozing with cheese. Thanks to Elwood for the pickles and tasty cupcakes. Thanks to Unc...

LIEBRE MTN & THE HIGH POINT
I hiked with my Wednesday crew to Liebre Mtn. We met in Valencia and carpooled to Pine Canyon road where we began our hike on the PCT. This was my first time on this trail and it was gorgeous! As we hiked along the PCT we had fantastic views of the Antelope valley and Tehachapi mountains. We also go...

Re: Guess the peak in the front range
Well I just hiked Linerock recently and found it to be quite nice. Lots of lush green hills and grass. Yes it was a bit overgrown but I loved it!
My kind of hike with steep sections. I really liked this one.
Unfortunately I just read this post today lol

I never heard of that bump referred to as the "Top of Tujunga".
I've been there many tines. The flag is not always there but it's a great place to take a break. Also the rick wall acts as a nice wind barrier.

Nate
This was my route. We deviated into the wash (on the right) just to check it out. But it's really not safe to be in there. So don't follow that part of the track. Just follow 3N48.

CARRIZO PLAINS
If you have never been to Carrizo Plains National Monument to see the superbloom, then I highly encourage it! Last Tuesday my friend picked me up at 5:30 am and we headed towards San Luis Obispo. The drive was very nice as we passed through grape vineyards and citrus trees. Driving through the citru...

LIMEROCK PEAK
I've been chasing wildflowers and someone suggested a trail that I should check out. This was a trail that was seldomly traveled. It starts at Forest Road 3N48 in Little Tujunga. The weather was overcast and it was a great day to hike for what was unexpectedly ahead of me. From the start of my route...

Diamond Valley Lake Wildflowers
Now that it's officially springtime I've been hiking several trails in search of wildflowers. Yesterday I found the motherload of wildflowers in Hemet. The trail is only 2 miles but offers such an array of spectacular wildflowers. You can also hike around the lake which is 22 miles. I only hiked 15 ...

Wow! Thanks for the info on these peaks. I've hiked many times starting at Victory trailhead up and down those hills and had no clue.
Beautiful poppies!

Beyond the 49 Palms
On St. Patrick's Day, I met my hiking crew at the 49 Palms Oasis trail. The plan was to hike beyond the palms through the canyon over the ridge making it a loop hike back to the cars. Well the rock scrambling was non stop with annoying cat claws that were unavoidable throughout the canyon. I got scr...
