Re: Best places to hike in the San Bernardino Mts?
I think the San Gabriels are ugly, but not too ugly, which makes them the most loveable :) I was hiking in Oregon a couple years ago and it was gorgeous. Too gorgeous in fact. It's hard to truly relate to anything that pretty. And I found myself wanting to be back in my much uglier forest. But when...

While others will have much better, and direct answers........ I would guess, virtually every canyon has areas that are accessible, and inaccessible. The subject of the day, Eaton Canyon is accessible to the "first falls". It is also easily hiked into via about 1.3 miles above Henninger f...

Re: Best places to hike in the San Bernardino Mts?
The San Berdooz always feel more warm and welcoming, less sharp and pointy and stabby as the San Gabriels. Gentler terrain, better rock, etc. I dig trips there cause it's usually pretty low-key and fun, even if we end up covering a lot of ground. I don't like them more or less than the GS's, they'r...

Re: Best places to hike in the San Bernardino Mts?
Hey all, I've been looking a lot at SBD mountains on google earth and different hiking pages. Been there a few times. Does anyone else feel like the San Gabriels are just superior in some way in terms of nature? There's something more grand, epic and breathtaking about the SGMts than the SBDmts to ...

Re: Cucamonga Canyon
I have always wondered about Cucamonga canyon, how is it in general? I have looked down there from the top of Bighorn peak and Ontario peak and it looks interesting. However I never read any trails in the area except for the close Sapphire Falls trail. Is it worth the 15 dollar parking permit? :oop...

I know some people went through on MBikes recently, so shouldn't be a problem on foot. From your posts, you looking to start at Stoddard-Barret and end up in Devore? Is lytle creek -> cucamonga canyon via the 1N34/San Sevaine Trail definitely get-throughable with a machete? Does anyone know if the trail is walkable/hikeable? I want to know there aren't major pieces of the road missing or something. Let me know, thanks. Thanks https://eispiraten.com/images-archiv...

If they could keep out the destructive elements of society, it would not come to this, here or elsewhere. Have you seen what damage has been done there lately? It really stinks, wealthy people, water sources, wildlife concerns, fire danger or not. most of it is pretty much untainted. the vast major...

Hi, I've recently been hiking as deeply as possible into Stoddard Canyon (as per a map). I can go just so far until a hill becomes too difficult to climb over to pass a 4th rappel that I came upon.
