Ahhh ya should of gone Friday. I went up there Good Friday. My first time up there. I noticed the Geomarker did not have Smith on it and could not make out the name on it to look it up. Taking the Son up there with me next time since I am sure he would love the ascent to the top.

This morning I got ready early so I would not disturb the wife. Made a map for her so she would know where I was g...

I must say it was great to hike with my son up to Mt Islip. Sad to say he is 27 and this is only the 3rd hike I have ever done with him. Now he wants to do an overnight with me and we both are looking forward to it! I just hope he enjoys Jerky and Salami as much as I do, for 3 meals! No clean up! :D...

Thanks, I was up there this past Friday and noticed the Bridge, closed but I noticed it.

On the Bridge, there are a few bridges! and water crossings. Great hike and go early to avoid the crowds.

Crystal Lake to Islip via Windy Gap

Took hike on 3/22 Good Hike and a work out climbing over and under obstacles and then there was the stretch to get over to the other side to the trails. The trail up to Windy Gap does need help but manageable. Then up to Islip. Great trip even with the cold breeze off the snow. The return trip was t...
