Re: Giants of the ANF

Don't know if this qualifies as "giant" but there is an interesting read in a book Up and Down California Journal of William H. Brewer Prof. of Agriculture Sheffield Scientific School. Covers a period of 1860-1864. The first 30 some pages give a description of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Re: INTROS - New members, introduce yourself here!

This is about 25 miles from my house on top of Scotchman's Peak looking down on the town of Clark Fork where the Clark Fork River enters Lake Pend Oreille. This critter took my lunch while I was taking other pictures. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/gallery.myff.org/gallery/1686224/goat (Smal...

Re: Some history of the San Gabriels

Here you will see some buildings, circa 1964. This is at the end of East Fork road, just a little way up the trail to the Narrows. A Guidebook of the San Gabriel Mountains of California by Russ Leadabrand revised 1964 pgs 32-35. And oral interviews of local re...

Some history of the San Gabriels

While I am the new guy I am well aware that the following is most probably been done before, there might be some who get something from my research over the years. I apologize for the redundancy Ray. ELDORADOVILLE The San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California are a part of a great barrier that se...
