Re: Spectre

I believe there are some mines out that way, the ones I visited were in the opposite side of the range in the SE corner by the aquaduct. I think the ones listed on the us topo you mentioned are super old and most remains weathered away.

This is a hike that's always interested me, seems like such a wild place.

The mine I posted a couple months back was in the SE coxcombs. Nobody goes out there.

The way the chopper comes in you can kinda see them hovering around that section of the mountain. Then when they are pulling her off it looks like she was down one of those gulleys.

Re: Devil's Backbone rescue

Correct me if I'm wrong it looks like she slipped where the trail is in the summer, but the correct route is to stay on the ridge leading from harwood? Avoid the steep section that ices over.

We started out after breakfast up the skit hut trail William was bundled up in a couple jackets and a beanie it w...

Nice! I wanted to do the traverse but I never did. Have you been out to oak flat? Interesting area, herd of cows roaming but the meadows are nice. TONS of peony flowers when we get a little rain.

Re: My New Favorite Loop in the Santa Ana's

My gps watch was acting up so I don't have a track for this one. I know there is a few mountain bike blogs/forums with the "trabuco/Yeager loop" that should have a track. The trail is pretty easy to miss coming down the bell ridge from Los pinos. The opening for the trail faces downhill, I...
