Re: Big Santa Anita Canyon East Fork
It's easy to bypass on the right. Read the post. Ok I see it now, thanks! Hey, great topic! I've explored the main canyon with a similar goal, but not that East Fork branch. It typically has almost no water coming out of it where it meets the main canyon, so I wrote it off. PMed you for more info.

Re: Angeles Crest Highway (CA-2)
What's the status of the closure now? I would like to drive from the San Bern area up to Cooper Canyon Falls. However, I can't see any current closure info on the CalTrans website. Google Maps still showing it closed. I thought I read an article about the metal plate being put across the hole, and i...

Hiking below Hermit Falls?
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has explored the portion of the creek that runs below Hermit Falls, near Chantry Flats? While I've seen many reports from ABOVE Hermit Falls-I'm most interested in the portion between Hermit Falls and the Reservoir/dam.
Thanks!

Re: Vincent Gap to Vincent Gulch + Plane Crash Site + Water
Round trip mileage was roughly 10 miles. Signage at top said 4.5 miles one way, and we meandered a bit.
Yeah, the plane appears to have been....pushed around quite a bit

Vincent Gap to Vincent Gulch + Plane Crash Site + Water
Hiked down to the old plane crash site in Vincent Gulch last week. Quite the upside-down hike, and making it back before dark is a little bit of a challenge. Trail is in decent shape, although there is a few points where it makes more sense to just walk through the dry creekbed in Vincent's Gulch (o...

Re: South-approach Stoddard Report and Loss of Access...!!
Is that the trail you can see from Baldy Road? You can see it from Baldy Road. You can access it using the short, Joatngna nature trail next to the station. Maybe this will help. https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/gallery.myff.org/gallery/1990173/Joatngna Trail.jpg https://eispiraten.com/images...

South-approach Stoddard Report and Loss of Access...!!
Video of the hike: https://www.youtube.com/embed/4xp7SP7CQ6s (Sorry, shaky in the beginning with the wind, smoother after) https://eispiraten.com/images-archived/i.imgur.com/vhk5xv8.jpg I’ve always been intrigued by the sharp ridgeline running south to north right along Mt. Baldy road, just south ea...

Old mine in South Fork Lytle Creek..?
Stumbled across this mine while hiking in the South Fork L. Creek. Appears it may have had a gate at one time, but long since removed, at least from the outside. Trail appears fairly well-used. https://www.youtube.com/embed/vh6gyxi3wCQ Came across a gold prospector, using a homemade metal detector (...

Re: Fish Canyon Access Trail
Has anyone hiked the public (not through Vulcan mining quarry/shuttle service) route to Fish Canyon recently? What can you tell me about the quality of the trail? Is it still overgrown with poison oak?

Coldwater Canyon
Has anyone ever hiked or explored Coldwater Canyon, near Glen Ivy in Corona? Any info on it at all? There is a public forest service trail nearby, but I am most interested in the actual canyon and creek that runs through it. Any info would be appreciated! Sorry, I know it isn't in the San Gabriels, ...
