Re: 'rescued' hiker spent 10 days at Switzer

Re: Prairie Fork - Lupine Road (3N39)

Have to love the dirtballs who tore down two of the three cement barricades that were erected to the side of the gate, huh? Personally, I wish they'd keep that road closed forever. I've packed enough garbage out of that canyon to know that once the road opens we'll be seeing beer bottles and cigare...

Re: Have you ever seen a rattlesnake in Icehouse Canyon?

I saw one two years ago just past the saddle on the way to Cucamonga. He was curled up on the trail but not aggressive at all. It was actually kind of weird. My guess was the temps were so cold that he was lethargic. Either way, don't let snakes keep you from hiking. Give them a few feet of space a...

Re: Mine Gulch via Vincent Gap trail

The trail from Vincent Gap down into Mine Gulch is easy to follow all the way to where it meets the Prairie Fork. From there if you're continuing further down the East Fork, you're on your own, but navigation is obvious through that stretch anyway. Thx Mc! I owe ya one. http://www.offshoreonly.com/...

Yes, the AC 100 is an incredibly wonderful run. My buddies and I run the Newcomb's Saddle Aid Station at the 68 mile point. The race was last weekend and it kicked everyone's butt. Our first runner came in about 5:30 pm while the last runner was late and came in just a little after our 3:00 am cut-...
