There is most excellent skiing to be had... in condition of course. But being young and with no real responsibities... what could be accomplished was simply amazing... as well as a little of this and a little of that kept everyone happy.

one of my favorite outings was heading out during one of our rare but massive winter storms. sometimes the road was closed before red box because it was so bad. but no worries... we would go to the strawberry peak trailhead at the bottom of the hill just after switzers (sp?). it got kinda epic somet...

My favorite winter area in the San Gabriels was the Twin Peaks area. I wouldn't access it from Buckhorn or any normal thing like that.
