Thanx Rick. Did you do the 3Ts and/or Etiwanda/Cucamonga/Ontario too? If so, do tell.

Costa Mesa A16 Closed
I was saddened today when I went to A16 to pick up a few items for an upcoming trip to Vietnam and saw all the windows papered over and a sign on the door apologizing for the sudden closure. The new Torrance store was missing on the "You can visit us at these locations" flyer. Sad times.

Re: Ski Hut Hike
Thanx everyone. Chains not necessary Sunday, but Im sure it's a different story as of today. There was no snow on the road all the way to Manker Flats; don't know beyond that as I did not go passed Manker Flats.

Re: Ski Hut Hike
I did not summit. I put them on while coming back down from the ski hut, just to minimize slippage. They were certainly not necessary to wear coming down from the ski hut. However, crampons are a certain must for the ascent from the ski hut to the summit and vice versa.

Ive been wanting to get more experience on the snow and some last minute info form Taco gave me just the push I needed to choose Baldy over something mundane. I didn't get to the TH until 0900 and there were already quite a few ca...

Re: General Conditions
Im itchin' to get out and was wondering what thoughts anyone had on heading up to BP or the ski hut trail tomorrow. Im still rather new on the snow, have crampons and snow shoes. Ooopsy, never mind... just read the your comments on the How to Download to PC thread. Looks like you both download using Mapsource.

Re: How do you organize your GPS track data?
Rob or Alan, (Ive been away from this MB for awhile and just saw this thread) - I download my tracks and WPs into NG Topo. Alan - since you are saving all your downloads as a .gpx file, are you downloading into EasyGPS or some other software? Rob - what software are you using to download into your M...

Converting GPS track into a GE kmz file
I use a Garmin Etrex Vista cx, NG Topo and Mapsource TOPO. Ive downloaded tracks from the GPSr to both mapping programs, but how can I convert a track into a kmz file? And, do you have to be a dues paying member of GE to upload the track into GE? Thanx!
