Did this last Saturday and it was tough. Temps reached 92 degrees and that made for a difficult return with the three uphill climbs. Regardless, one of my favorite peaks. Didn't see another soul all day.

Most practical way to do Mt. Gleason is by mountain bike. It's fairly easy.

Nice pics and your report evokes fond memories. Bagged Sawtooth a couple of years ago as a day trip and included Mineral Peak for good measure. The whole Mineral King area is beautiful and among my favorites areas in the Sierra.

I drove that road this past Saturday and it is in pretty good shape. There was a Honda civic at San sevaine so you'll be ok to that point. Continuing on to Buck Point might be a bit difficult. Beware, there were quite a few hunters out there.

Sunday Peak is a nice little hike. TH to peak is about 1.5 miles with an elevation gain of 800' or so. Nice trail with easy routefinding. Saw this little beauty on a 7900 peak in the south sierra, about 4 in. tall, 2 in. diameter, placed in 2009, only 6 visitors since. Peak is not on any list, so it doesn't get much attention. Was up there yesterday. From 8000' there is solid snow cover, but you can manage without crampons. There is a good boot track and even if you fall you won't slide into the abyss. I also tagged Ross Mountain which is a very nice sidetrip since it does not get visited very often.
