Sucks about the endo. :(

I did that trip (only one way) last summer. Fun enough but probably wouldn't do it again. Having not ridden in years I was a little sore.

We put booties on the mutt. You must have these for any lengthy trip. Be prepared to hear, "HOW CUTE BOOOOOTIES" at least once a mile.

White Blaze has a good forum for backpacking with dogs: http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=439

Thanks for the rundown, Taco! I've got a feeling that 2011 winter won't be spent in the desert. :D

I just wish REI would me a bone and put ice-axes on sales every once in a while.

According to my sources Sequoia and Kings Canyon to be shutdown - The parks will close at midnight tonight for an undetermined period of time.

Can't speak for anything else. Just the parks mentioned.

20090201 The Dawn Mine

Ahhh snow trip reports. I'd really rather not see another one for a while. So allow me to entertain you with a location that's currently "off-limits". Some buddies and I explored the Dawn Mine two years back. Here are picture of us as fledgeling adventurers. Anyone's evil twin brother been...

Your attempt to go on topic for your benefit has resulted in your image not working for one reason or another. One of the dangers of hosting images from home. I'm sure the internet will start working again eventually. Seriously though, if you want I can clean the thread up. I'm sorry for taking it ...

I hate sleeping bags. Ideas?

I'm thinking about replacing my sleeping bag. I think they're exceedingly silly.

I think the idea of having a down pants/jacket/booties would add a few ounces but be much more functional.

Has anyone tried this?
Has anyone tried this in a hammock situation?
Any brand/style suggestions?
