Baldy Ski area has live weather and cameras and graphs. It is lower than the Summit at 7,900 feet but a good indicator of what is above if you deduct a few degrees.

I keep seeing Bobcats, three times recently, here is the most recent. I don't think it is the same animal, each time was about a mile away from the last sighting, but it is certainly possible. This photo is taken with an iphone.

This one was right before the Ski Hut on Baldy. It was just off the trail and not afraid of us humans at all.

Yes there was nice cool water flowing at the Ski Hut last weekend.

These guys did not seem wary enough, of course I am not a threat.

A second later another hiker came up the trail and they may have been watching for him, I think they were moving up to get away from him and ran into me.

I see many beautiful things while hiking, this Saturday the most beautiful was meeting Hikin Joyce. Great to meet you both.

A mama and her child. It was interesting how alert she was and how they noticed us from so far away.
The mother recognized us as a possible threat and moved away long before we could get close.

The water was flowing Sunday. Nice and cool. The old metal pipe and box have been replaced, there is a white plastic pipe now.

There were even a couple of old dirty patches of snow near the camp, which could be used to cool a beverage.

The sunset picture and several of the others are as good as anything I have seen. Just beautiful.

It may snow tonight. Even if it does snow tonight it will probably melt by tomorrow afternoon. These photos were from last Saturday. Looks like someone walked off with the register box between your visit and mine on this past Sunday. I didn't do a thorough search but did walk around the summit area. Signs of the old PVC pipe (broken) inside the cairn. The register is still there, it is just moved off to the right as you approach...
