I had the pleasure to accompany Rick Kent yesterday 8-20-2010 on his 3rd time up the mountain. Below is my version of his 3rd time up hopefully he'll do his own TR, he doesn't blog here much. Heard something that up to 600 people will be going for Baldy this coming Saturday and they are opening up the upper chair lift so people can in essence take the charlift all the way up to devil's backbone and summit from there. Any word on this?

After talking to Ranger Dan who has the most total summits of Baldy 400+ I believe Shin has done the most in a year 47 or 48...Yes Rick is crazy 5 is unfathomable. I felt really good after doing Baldy on Saturday and again on Monday. I was thinking I could do one or two more but 5 total....

Our very own Shin summited Mt Baldy 43X in 2009. Unless someone comes forward I'm going to say that's a record.....

Ya it was great finally meeting you to. No worries about making me jump, lol. I had my ipod on and I thought at that hour on new year's eve I would be all alone the rest of the way down. I don't have much of a trip report but to say that might be my first and last time climbing straight up the bowl....
